Google just announced the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the company’s first latest foldable smartphone, and has also launched the phone in India, as it had promised. Powered by Google Tensor G4 chip, the foldable has a larger 8-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED foldable screen and a 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED outer screen.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a fluid-friction hinge that easily opens fully flat, and the company says it is the thinnest foldable phone at 5.1 mm when open. It has a multi-alloy steel body with an aerospace-grade high-strength aluminium alloy cover, and silky matt glass back.
It features scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and boasts an IPX8 rating for water resistance of up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes of submersion.
The foldable has a 48MP main camera with OIS, and it can be used as a selfie camera since there is a screen on the front. There is a 10.5MP ultra-wide camera and a 10.8 MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
There are Pro controls, Super Res Zoom up to 20, Add Me, Macro Focus, Night Sight, Hands-free astrophotography, Dual Screen Preview, Tabletop mode hands-free shots, Made You Look and more features. Made You Look feature helps the kids smile for a photo by displaying an animation on the outer screen to grab their attention while snapping a picture.

Pricing and availability
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is priced at Rs. 1,72,999 for the 256GB model in India. In the US, it costs USD 1799 (Rs. 1,50,935 approx.). It will be available later this year, said the company, without revealing the exact date.
