At its ninth Made by Google event, Google announced its new range of devices coming to India. The latest lineup includes the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel Buds Pro 2, and Pixel Watch 3.
To improve after-sales service and retail presence, Google is expanding its operations in India:
Walk-in Centers
Google is expanding its after-sales service in India with new Walk-in Centers. Two centers will open on August 15, 2024, in Delhi and Bengaluru, with a third location in Mumbai opening soon.
These centers will provide high-quality support for Pixel phones, Pixel Watches, Pixel Buds, Fitbit devices, and Nest products, regardless of purchase location or warranty status.
Services such as device repairs, replacements, and general inquiries, with many repairs completed the same day, are provided in collaboration with Flipkart’s service arm, F1 Info Solutions and Services Private Limited, which operates over 100 multi-brand service centers across India.
Retail Expansion
Starting August 14, 2024, Google’s Pixel products will be available at over 150 Croma and Reliance Retail stores across 15 cities. The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL will be the first to go on sale, with availability beginning August 22, 2024.
Google’s online retail partner, Flipkart, will continue to offer devices online, while the expansion to physical stores aims to serve customers who prefer to experience products in person before purchasing, said the company.
Local Manufacturing
Google also announced that the first Made in India Pixel 8 devices have started production. These locally manufactured phones will be available through various distribution channels soon.
Availability
The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL will be available for pre-order starting today, August 14, 2024, on Flipkart, as well as at Croma and Reliance Retail. They will officially go on sale on August 22, 2024.
The Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel Buds Pro 2, and Pixel Watch 3 will be available in India later this year.
