Ola Roadster e-motorcycle series launched starting at Rs. 74,999


Ola Electric introduced its first e-motorcycle series, the ‘Roadster,’ at the ‘Sankalp 2024’ event held at the Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. This new series features three models: Roadster X, Roadster, and Roadster Pro, each available in multiple variants.

Roadster X

The Roadster X, the entry-level model, comes in three battery variants: 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh. It features LED headlamps, a 4.3-inch LCD screen, telescopic front forks, rear twin shock absorbers, and 18-inch black alloy wheels.

The motorcycle offers a maximum range of 200 km and a peak power output of 14.7 bhp (11 kW), with a 0-40 kmph acceleration time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 124 kmph.

It includes a Combi Braking System (CBS) with disc brakes and advanced brake-by-wire technology. Riders can choose from Sports, Normal, and Eco modes.

Powered by MoveOS 5, the Roadster X also features Ola Maps Navigation, cruise control, DIY mode, and TPMS alerts. It comes with Digital Key Unlock and Ola Electric App connectivity.

Roadster

The mid-range Roadster is available in 3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh, and 6 kWh variants. It boasts a sportier design with LED projector headlamps, a 7-inch touchscreen display, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and an aluminum subframe.

The bike has a range of 248 km, a power output of 17.4 bhp (13 kW), and a 0-40 kmph time of 2.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 126 kmph. This model offers four riding modes: Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco.

In addition to basic features, it includes proximity unlock, tamper alerts, and the AI-powered Krutrim Assistant. The bike is equipped with advanced braking systems, including single-channel ABS and cornering ABS.

Roadster Pro

The flagship Roadster Pro is available in 8 kWh and 16 kWh variants and includes premium features like upside-down (USD) front forks, an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), and a 10-inch touchscreen display.

The bike features a liquid-cooled motor and battery pack, offering a claimed range of up to 579 km. It can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 1.2 seconds, with a top speed of 194 kmph and a power output of 70 bhp (52 kW) and 105 Nm of torque.

Advanced features include a switchable two-channel ABS system and dedicated race-track modes. Additionally, the upcoming MoveOS 6 update will introduce race-oriented functions like Race Mode, Anti-Wheely, and Stoppie modes.

Shared Features

All three models come with an integrated MCU, providing Hill Hold, traction control, and ABS modes. The battery packs utilize Ola’s new 4680 cells, enhancing charge time and performance. Additionally, Ola Electric offers an 8-year battery warranty across its motorcycle lineup.

MoveOS 5

Ola’s upcoming MoveOS 5 update will bring advanced digital features to the Roadster series, including ADAS, three-level traction control, integrated ride modes, and Ola Maps with Group Navigation and Live Location Sharing.

The update also introduces enhancements like Smart Charging, Smart Park, TPMS alerts, and predictive insights powered by Krutrim AI. The beta version of MoveOS 5 will be available by Diwali 2024 through an OTA update.
