Nu Republic Cybotron Spin Review — Compact wireless charging Power Bank with fidget-spinner design

Nu Republic has been launching products inspired by fidget spin. After the launch of its Cyberstud SPIN earbuds with the fidget spinner design, the company today launched the Cybotron Spin, a 10,000mAh wireless charging power bank that is compatible with MagSafe devices, and also has USB Type-C PD charging and

Apart from the power bank, it comes with a USB Type-A to Type-C cable in the box.

Design and build

Starting with the design, the power bank has a small rectangular design with curved corners and plastic body which has a matte finish, so it is not prone to scratches easily. The highlight of the power bank is the fidget spinner-like design on the front.

There is a tiny LED display on the front that shows the current battery level and charging status in real-time when you press the button next to it.

The wireless charging is present on the other side. You can see the specs of the power bank in small text.

The power bank measures 68×20×104mm, which is compact for a 10000mAh power bank that also weighs as light as 185 grams.

There is a Type-C port on the top with USB PD 20W output / input (5A-3.1A / 9V-2.1A / 12V-1.6A). Next to it is a 22.5W USB Type-A output (5V-5.4A / 5V-3A / 9V-2A / 12V-1.5A) port. There is also a lightning port for 18W input (5A-2A / 9V-2A / 12V-1.5A).

Performance

Since it has 15W MagSafe support, the grip is strong for compatible iPhones, and can be used with a MagSafe case, so it doesn’t fall off easily unless you pull them manually.

It gives PD logo on the small LED screen, and the status also shows it can be charged wirelessly. You can also charge other wireless charging devices since it offers 10W, 7.5W and 5W output.

It also charged the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 that has wireless charging.

The 10,000mAh power bank can charge even a Samsung, Pixel, iPhone, iPad and even MacBook Air (with Type-C Port very slowly) since it offers USB PD output. It also automatically recognizes the device you plug and offers ample amount of power required. Even though both the Type-C and Type-A ports offer maximum 18W output, only one port offers fast charging at a time.

Power lost during voltage conversion is a common problem in power banks.  The company doesn’t reveal the charging conversion rate for the power bank.  The power bank doesn’t get heated even after hours of usage, thanks to Overheat and Overcharge Protection. It takes about 3 and half hours for full charge using a 18W PD fast charger.

Conclusion

Priced at Rs. 2,499, this compact wireless charging and wired fast charging power bank with fidget spinner design is a decent accessory for charging a wide range of devices since it has both USB Type-A and type-C ports and also has a lightning input port. However, these are a bit costly since there are a lot of models available at a cheaper range.

It is available exclusively through Blinkit in select cities across India and can also be purchased on Nu Republic’s official website starting today.
