moto g45 5G Unboxing and First Impressions


motorola launched the moto g45 5G smartphone in ‘g series’ in India as the successor to g34 5G earlier today. This gets a faster Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, and a vegan leather finish in all the models, while retaining other specifications. Here we have the first impressions of the phone.

The moto g45 has a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD screen with a centre punch-hole, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 500 nits peak brightness. The screen has Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection.

Powered by Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, which is the upgraded version of the Snapdragon 695, the phone has up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. It runs Android 14, and the company has promised Android 15 update and 3 years of security updates for the phone.

The phone has a 16MP camera inside the punch-hole. There is an earpiece on the top edge which doubles up as a secondary speaker. The phone also has Dolby Atmos. It has a slightly thicker bottom bezel, which is fine in the price range.

The power button, which integrates a fingerprint scanner, is present on the right side along with the volume rockers. The hybrid SIM and microSD card slot that accepts cards up to 1TB is present on the left side. The 3.5mm audio jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is present on the top and has Dolby Atmos branding.

There is a 50MP rear camera with EIS, along with a 2MP macro camera. The phone supports 1080p video recording with both the front and rear cameras. Check out some camera samples.

The phone is 8.03mm thick, and has a vegan leather finish that feels smooth to touch, and the phone also has IP52 ratings for dust and splash resistance. It has a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

Priced starting at Rs. 10,999 for the 4GB + 128GB version, it will be available from Flipkart, motorola.in and will also available from retail stores starting from August 28th. Full review of the phone will be up soon. With the Rs. 1000 bank discount, the effective price is Rs. 9999.
