YouTube launched the YouTube Premium in India back in 2019 at Rs. 129 a month, after 5 years, the company has hiked the price of the premium membership to Rs. 149, which is a 15.5% Hike.
YouTube Premium family membership, which was launched for Rs. 189 a month that lets you share the account with 5 more family members now costs Rs. 299, which is a 58.2% Hike. So, the family membership plan now offers a good value only when you have two or more members.
The student plan which was launched for Rs. 79 per month now costs Rs. 89, which is a 12.65%. The pre-paid plans have also been hiked accordingly.

YouTube Music Premium, offers an ad-free experience with background play and offline downloads for videos on YouTube, as well as access to all YouTube Originals.
YouTube said that this move is to continue delivering great service and features. “We don’t make these decisions lightly, and this update will allow us to continue to improve Premium and support the creators and artists you watch on YouTube,” said the company.
Existing premium subscribers are getting an email to agree to the new price, if no action is taken by the next billing date in September, your subscription will end before the new price takes effect from the billing date after that in October. You can check out the new changes on youtube.com/premium
