HONOR details Magic V3’s AI Defocus display technology ahead of global launch

HONOR is all set to introduce its pioneering AI Defocus Display Technology on the HONOR Magic V3, designed to enhance eye protection.

This innovative technology, debuting on the new foldable device at IFA 2024, aims to reduce eye strain and myopia by integrating defocus signals into the screen layers.

Key Highlights: HONOR AI Defocus Display Technology

Enhanced Eye Protection: The HONOR Magic V3 utilizes AI algorithms to emulate traditional optical methods, reducing eye strain and transient myopia.

It also features ultra-high PWM dimming to decrease screen flicker and offer additional eye protection.

Myopia Control: To combat increasing myopia rates, the AI Defocus technology draws inspiration from “defocus incorporated multiple segments” (DIMS) used in specialized glasses.

Laboratory tests reveal that AI Defocus reduces nearwork-induced transient myopia by an average of 13° and enhances central choroid thickness after just 25 minutes of screen use.

Expanding App Support: Initially compatible with YouTube and Amazon Kindle, HONOR plans to extend AI Defocus support to more applications.

HONOR has also partnered with tech YouTuber Phonebuff to preview how this technology will enhance the HONOR Magic V3’s display. You can view the video below.

Launch Date

The HONOR Magic V3, along with the HONOR MagicPad 2 and HONOR MagicBook Art 14, will be officially launched on September 5, 2024, at 14:00 CEST (5:30 PM IST).
