Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch Ultra, the company’s top-end smartwatch in the new Ultra series, for the first time last month. Here we have the first impressions of the rugged smartwatch.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra has a circular dial, but the shape is different. The watch has a Titanium Grade 4 casing that looks and feels premium. It has a huge 47mm dial and a huge battery, it weighs 60.5 grams. It has 10ATM water resistance, MIL-STD-810H certification, Ocean Swimming, Operation Temperature, Altitude Guaranteed.
The watch has a 1.5-inch (480×480 pixels) Super AMOLED, Full Color Always On Display, and now has up to 3,000nits peak brightness. The screen has Sapphire Crystal protection.
In addition to the Home and Back buttons that are usually present in all the Galaxy Watch models, there is a new Quick button, a customizable button designed for exercise, outdoor activities, and precise input. It also allows easy access 86-decibel Emergency Siren that can be heard up to 180 meters away by holding the button for five seconds.
You can set the Quick button to perform various actions by configuring the options. You find the microphones near the button, and the speaker is present on the other side. The smooth rubberized finish on the sides doesn’t attract fingerprints.
The band is durable and uses a Dynamic Lug System, so it can be easily attached and swapped to suit different outdoor activities.
The smartwatch is powered by the new Exynos W1000 3nm SoC, has 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
It uses enhanced BioActive Sensor with Improved Photodiodes, Additional LED Colors and Optimal LED Arrangement for accurate measurement of health metrics such as Heart rate, Sleep quality, Blood pressure, Blood oxygen levels and stress levels. This also has Temperature Sensor, Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, and Light Sensor.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra runs on Wear OS 5, supporting a variety of apps including Galaxy services, Google apps, and third-party applications, accessible directly from the watch.
The watch supports multi-sport tracking, including triathlon courses, and offers AI-powered Functional Threshold Power (FTP) metrics for cycling. It includes Personalized HR Zone for optimal workout intensity.
The smartwatch has a 590mAh battery that promises the longest battery life within the Galaxy Watch line-up, offering up to 100 hours in Power Saving mode and 48 hours in Exercise Power Saving mode.
