Google has started rolling out the Gmail Q&A feature on Android devices, integrating Gemini to improve inbox management. This new functionality enables users to ask Gemini questions about their emails directly within the Gmail app for Android.

With Gmail Q&A, users can query specific details in their emails, locate unread messages, view emails from specific senders, or receive summaries of emails on particular topics. Previously, this feature was available on the Gmail web version via the Gemini side panel.

Getting Started
  • To activate Gmail Q&A, administrators must enable smart features and personalization through the Admin console.
  • End users can access Gemini by tapping the black Gemini star at the top right of the Gmail app or using the “summarize this email” chip.

Initially, Gmail Q&A will search for information in your inbox, with plans to expand to Google Drive content in future updates.
