After teasers of the rear design, HUAWEI today opened pre-orders for the HUAWEI Mate XT, the first phone in the world to feature a tri-fold screen, ahead of sale on September 20th in China.
The teaser shows the phone’s sleek tri-fold design, metal frame with a golden finish, leather back, and ‘Designed & Crafted by HUAWEI’ branding on the back.
The company already posted a teaser video showing the octagonal lens design, a periscope telephoto camera, and a sleek metal body. The rear design resembles the company’s Mate X5 foldable phone.
The phone will use a screen from BOE and is expected to feature a customized three-fold screen that will open up into a tablet with a large screen.
BOE Chairman Chen Yanshun at the BOE IPC 2024 conference this week said that the HUAWEI’s tri-fold screen phone Mate XT is made possible with deep collaborations with both the companies.
HUAWEI Mate XT will come in 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB models, and the pricing should be available next week when the phone launches officially.
