The crease is visible only when you look from certain angles, and doesn’t disturb you when you are using the phone.
There is a 32MP camera on the inside, and the earpiece works as a secondary speaker.
The outer screen is now 3.6″ in size, which we had seen in the razr 40 ultra. This pOLED display has up to 90Hz refresh rate and up to 1700 nits peak brightness. It has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
The bigger outer screen offers more screen real estate to use any app. You can also use Gemini from the outer screen. Powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 7300X SoC optimized for foldables, the phone has a 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
The razr 50 has a 6000 series aluminum frame that is premium to look and feel, and is solid to hold. The phone has a matte finish, and might be slipper at times. The volume rockers and the power button that houses the fingerprint scanner is present on the right side. The SIM slot is present on the left side. This has a single physical SIM and the secondary SIM is an eSIM.
The primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the speaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top. You can see the camera bands.
The phone is just 7.25mm thick when open, compared to 7.35mm in the predecessor. It weighs 188 grams, same as the razr 40.
When closed, the phone is 15.85mm thick. The hinge feels sturdy and can be used in several angles, and the company says that it has been successfully tested for over 4 lakh folds. The phone has IPX8 ratings for water resistance.
There is a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 13MP ultra-wide camera with macro option. You can also use the rear cameras for selfies since the quality is better. There is 4K video recording for both the front and rear cameras. Check out the camera samples.
All the colour variants of the phone feature a vegan leather finish on the back. In addition to the Sand Beach version, the phone also comes in Spritz Orange and Koala Grey colours.
