Google unveils new entry-level Google One Lite plan in India

Google has silently started rolling out Google One Lite, a cheaper Google One plan in India for those who need more than 15GB of storage, but don’t need to spend Rs. 130 per month for 100GB of storage. Details about the Google One Lite surfaced in Google Photos app back in July.

The new Google One Lite plan costs Rs. 59 per month, which is half the cost of the 100GB plan, and offers 30GB of storage that can be shared between Gmail, Photos and Drive. However, unlike the 100GB plan that can be shared with up to 5 others, you can’t share this plan with others.

Similar to other plans, there is a 1-month trial for the Lite plan. There are no details if the annual option is available for the Lite plan, since all the other plans have annual plans that let you save up to 26%, according to Google.

According to The Indian Express who get to check out the Lite plan early, the company is still testing the plan, and it is not available for everyone yet. We will have to wait for Google to confirm when it is planning to roll out the plan widely.
