Sennheiser has announced updates to their Smart Control App, adding new features for the MOMENTUM and ACCENTUM true wireless earbuds.
Auracast Assistant
The update introduces the Auracast assistant, which simplifies access to “one-to-many” broadcasting technology. This allows users to share music or enjoy museum exhibits in their preferred language.
The 2024 MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 and ACCENTUM True Wireless earbuds are compatible with Auracast and will receive a firmware update to support this Bluetooth LE Audio-based feature.
The Smart Control app also now enables users to manage Auracast connections from devices that don’t natively support it. For instance, an iPhone user with MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 earbuds can connect to an Auracast stream from a television at an airport.
Find Headphones
The update includes a “Find headphones” feature for the ACCENTUM True Wireless, MOMENTUM Sport, and MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 models.
Users can track their earbuds’ last location using their smartphone and activate an audible signal to locate them nearby. This feature is useful for frequent travelers, remote workers, and athletes.
Availability
- The Auracast assistant and “Find headphones” features are available in Smart Control App version 4.9.0 and higher.
- These features can be accessed on MOMENTUM True Wireless 4, with Auracast support coming soon to ACCENTUM True Wireless via a firmware update.
The app is available for download on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).
Speaking about the new features, Vijay Sharma, General Manager of Sennheiser Consumer Business in India, said,
Smart Control continues to evolve with our customers’ needs, adding indispensable features for power users. The Auracast assistant makes selecting an Auracast broadcast effortless for MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 and ACCENTUM True Wireless users. Since our customers take their earbuds everywhere, it made perfect sense to include find-my-device capabilities in our latest true wireless releases.
