Specifications of the Exynos 2500 SoC surfaced earlier this year, and there have been rumours about Samsung facing delays in the development of the chip. Earlier this month, the Exynos 2500 10-Core SoC surfaced in Basemark GPU benchmark, revealing the performance of the new Xclipse 950 GPU.
This is run on the Samsung test device S5E9955 ERD running Android 15, featuring Quad HD+ (3200 x 1440 pixels) display resolution and 16GB of RAM.
This reveals Sacred VRS Vulkan 1.3 score of 2602, The Expedition Vulkan 1.0 score of 5917 and Sacred Path Vulkan 1.3 score of 2496. The scores are slightly better than the Xclipse 940 GPU used in the Exynos 2400, but still less than Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s Adreno 750 GPU. The scores are expected to be more when used with phones featuring a FHD+ screen.
This shows a base clock speed of 2GHz, same as the predecessor, which is likely to be 4x ARM A520 CPUs. This is said to use 3 x ARM A720 CPUs with A730 CPUs clocked at up to 2.5GHz~2.3GHz, 2 x ARM A720 CPUs and 3.3GHz~3.2GHz Cortex X5 Prime Core.
Even after all the testing, Samsung is rumoured to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy in all the models of the Galaxy S25, mainly due to built-in AI performance improvements that the Snapdragon chip is expected to offer compared to the company’s own Exynos chip.
Exynos-powered Galaxy S25 phone will not be confirmed unless we see the exact model of the phone shows up in benchmarks, which usually happens weeks before the launch of the flagships.
