Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024 to kick off this month


Amazon India has announced that the 9th edition of the Amazon Great Indian Festival (GIF) will commence this month.

Launched in 2015, this annual event offers significant deals across various product categories. This year’s theme is “Taiyaari Tyohaar Ki,” which translates to “Preparing for the Festival,” and aims to help shoppers get ready for the festive season.

The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024 is set to be a month-long event featuring exclusive deals, offers, and new product launches. Shoppers can choose from an extensive range of international and domestic brands, local startups, and traditional artisan products.

An Amazon India spokesperson emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing the festive experience and supporting Indian SMBs and brands through digital transformation.

The event will showcase products from millions of sellers, ensuring fast and reliable delivery across all serviceable pin codes. Amazon continues to innovate with AI and machine learning to improve both seller and customer experiences.

Ipsos Study Reveals Amazon as Top Choice

An Ipsos study commissioned by Amazon India reveals increased consumer enthusiasm for festive shopping. Key announcements include:

Increased Consumer Excitement: Nearly 90% of survey respondents are enthusiastic about shopping during the festive season, with 70% looking forward to online shopping.

Preference for Amazon.in: 73% of respondents view Amazon.in as a reliable shopping platform, and 75% prefer it for its broad product selection.

Perceived Deals: 72% believe that Amazon sellers provide attractive deals.

Higher Spending Intentions: Over half of those planning to shop online intend to spend more than they did in 2023. This trend is noticeable in both metro (55%) and tier-2 cities (43%).

Convenience and Trust: Convenience is a significant factor, with 76% valuing the ability to shop from anywhere at any time. Additionally, 74% appreciate speedy delivery, and 75% trust online shopping events to offer genuine products.

Amazon Prime Delivery: Prime now delivers over 10 lakh items the same day and 40 lakh items the next day. Approximately 50% of Prime orders in 2024 have been delivered within these timeframes.

Electronics Preferences: More than half of respondents prefer Amazon for buying consumer electronics like TVs, laptops, and tablets. One-third of shoppers wait for festive events to make electronic purchases, and 69% trust these events for buying electronics.

Smartphones: 80% of respondents are interested in purchasing mid-range smartphones priced between Rs. 10,000-30,000 during the festive sales.

Fashion and Beauty: Amazon.in is preferred for buying apparel (35%) and beauty products (34%). 83% find good deals on fashion items, and 73% agree that online sales during the festive season offer everything needed for celebrations.

Gen-Z is particularly active, with 86% planning to shop for these categories online. 82% also believe that online sales provide attractive discounts on luxury beauty brands.

Grocery Shopping: 35% of consumers prefer Amazon.in for groceries during the festive season. Trust in online grocery shopping is high, with 72% believing in its reliability and 71% valuing flexible delivery options.

Digital Payments: UPI is increasingly popular, with 64% of consumers using it for festive shopping. 82% favor digital payments like UPI for rewards and cashback.

Event Timing

The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024 will take place between September and October. Amazon has partnered with SBI to offer 10% instant discount with SBI credit and debit cards and EMI. Exact dates will be announced soon on Amazon.in.
