Reliance Jio recently introduced a new service called ‘iActivate,’ allowing users to activate SIMs from their homes. The service supports both physical SIMs and eSIMs, simplifying the process for new users.
What is Jio iActivate?
Jio’s iActivate lets users activate their SIM cards from home using a mobile device. The process involves taking a live photo or video and uploading necessary documents. This can all be managed through a mobile phone, according to the company.
In addition to iActivate, Jio offers another option to activate a SIM. Users can order a Jio SIM online with free home delivery. A delivery agent will assist with the activation process upon delivery.
How to Use Jio iActivate
The iActivate service is available to both Android and iOS users. To access it, users must first download and install the My Jio app. Once the app is installed, the iActivate banner within the app will guide users through the process of purchasing and activating a new SIM card.
Here’s how to use the service:
- Open the My Jio app.
- Tap on the iActivate banner on the home page.
- You’ll be directed to a page for purchasing a SIM card with free home delivery.
- Enter your mobile number and the OTP sent to your phone.
- Choose between an eSIM or a physical SIM.
- Select the ‘Jio iActivate’ option and proceed.
- For KYC, select either Aadhaar OTP or Digilocker.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the activation process from home.
Alternatively, customers can contact the Jio sales or customer care teams to obtain a new SIM card, which can be home-delivered. Customers can choose their preferred number.
