Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of Redmi Note 14 series smartphones in China next week, after several rumours. The image reveals a new camera design for the phones.
The Note 14 Pro+ in green shows a 50MP camera with OIS and f/1.6 aperture for the main camera. There is a 60mm f/2.2 mid-focus lens, according to the image.
The other phone, which should be the Note 14 Pro, shows a 50MP AI camera with OIS, without revealing exact specs. These are not expected to pack a telephoto lens, so the third camera will likely be a macro or a depth sensor.
The company says that the next generation Redmi series phones feature a major upgrade in quality that include a new level of drop resistance, and new level of waterproofness, achieving stronger waterproofness for the entire device.
Xiaomi also said that the Redmi Note 14 Pro series has passed a number of rigorous tests and has officially been selected as the official mobile phone of the Blue Sky Rescue Team, China’s largest private rescue team. With the quality requirements of the rescue front line, it started a major quality upgrade, it added.
This should be IP68 ratings for both the phones. To remind you, the Redmi Note 13 Pro only featured IP54 ratings. The company also promises a new level of guarantee, a rare service guarantee in the industry. The phone will retain the plastic middle frame, according to rumours.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro used the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, and the Note 14 Pro is said to be powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, and the phone is expected to get a 1.5K dual-curved screen, and up the benchmarks revealed 16GB of RAM. These should still run Android 14 with Hyper OS on top.
