Google introduced the Pixel 9 smartphone recently, and we still have few months for the Pixel 9a to arrive. Now the CAD-based renders of the Pixel 9a has surfaced, revealing the design of the phone.
This matches the live image of the phone that revealed changes in the design. The Pixel 9a is expected to feature flat side rails and no rear camera bar. This still shows slightly larger bottom bezels compared to the Pixel 9. The SIM slot has been moved to the bottom to match the other Pixel 9 series phones.
The Pixel 9a should use the Tensor G4 SoC, but use an Exynos Modem 5300 from the Pixel 8 series instead of Exynos Modem 5400 in the Pixel 9 series that has support for 5G 3GPP Rel. 17, and has improved efficiency.
The Tensor G4 is also said to use Samsung’s IPoP (Integrated Package on Package) instead of FOPLP (Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging) from the Pixel 9’s G4 to cut the cost, the same as what it did for the Pixel 7a and Pixel 8a.
It should run Android 15 and get 7 years of updates. The phone is rumoured to stick to a 6.1-inch display, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone is expected to come in four colours, including a silver option.
We should know more details in the coming months, since the phone is expected only in 2025.
