Samsung Galaxy A16 5G with 6.7” FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display, 6 OS updates announced

Samsung has silently introduced the Galaxy A16 5G, the company’s latest mid-range A series phone, in Europe, as the successor to last year’s A15 5G. It packs a slightly larger 6.7-inch FHD+ 90Hz Super AMOLED display with a notch. This goes back to Exynos 1330 SoC from Dimensity 6100+.

It retains the 50MP main + 5MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro camera and a 13MP front camera in the predecessor. It runs Android 14 with One UI 6 on top, and will be the first mid-range Samsung phone to get 6 OS updates and 6 years of security updates, till October 31, 2030.

The 3.5mm audio jack is gone, and it still doesn’t have stereo speakers. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with 25W charging support, and the charger is sold separately.
