Lava Agni 3 5G Unboxing and First Impressions


Lava launched the Agni 3 5G, the company’s latest 5G smartphone, in India last week. The smartphone features a dual AMOLED screen, and is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300X SoC for the first time in the segment. We got hold of the phone, and here is our unboxing and the first impressions.

The Lava Agni 3 5G has a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED punch-hole screen with a pixel resolution of 1200 x 2652 pixels and a 3D curved glass screen with gentle rounded corners. The display is bright, and the sunlight legibility is good as well since it has up to 1200 nits peak brightness. It has 120Hz refresh rate.

It has the punch-hole that houses a 16-megapixel camera. The earpiece is present on the top edge. Powered by Dimensity 7300X 4nm SoC with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 8GB of virtual RAM and comes in 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage options. The phone runs Android 14 without any bloatware, and the company has confirmed 3 Android updates and 4 years of security updates for the phone.

The phone has a 1.74″ (336 x 480 pixels) secondary AMOLED screen which lets you receive calls, see notifications, use the rear camera to shoot selfies, and use several useful day-to-day apps like Music Player, Steps & Calorie tracker, Voice Recorder, Timer, Stopwatch & Weather. When not in use, it shows animated character firey.

The phone features a 50-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a y 8MP 3X telephoto camera. It supports up to 4K 30 fps video recording for the back camera and 1080p 30fps video recording for the front camera. Check out some camera samples below.

Coming to the button placements, the power button is present on the right side. There is a new action button, which can be customized for single press, double press and long press. The volume rockers are present on the left. The dual SIM slot is on the bottom along with primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and primary speaker. The secondary speaker is on the top, along with a secondary microphone. There is Dolby Atmos sticker.

Coming to the design, the phone has a glass body with a smooth matte finish on the back, so it is a bit heavy at 212 grams. It has IP64 ratings for dust and splash resistance. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging that can charge up to 50% in about 20 minutes.
