After teasers, OnePlus, OPPO and BOE have announced a joint event on October 15th to introduce a new flagship BOE screen for the upcoming OnePlus 13 smartphone. “You will witness the new peak of China’s screen at the event,” said the company.
According to leaker Digital Chat Station, the screen could be around 6.82-inch 120Hz 8T LTPO screen with 2K resolution, and feature uniform bezels for a quad-curved screen.
OnePlus 12 featured 4500 nits peak brightness, P1 display chip, 8T LTPO panel, 2160Hz PWM high-frequency dimming, and a pixel density of 510PPI. We can expect the OnePlus 13 to exceed this.
The OPPO Find X8 which will be introduced on October 24th is also expected to use the BOE screen. UIt will feature “lights off eye protection” screen technology, becoming the first product to obtain the German Rhine TÜV laboratory’s Intelligent Eye Protection 4.0 certification.
It will also support high-frequency PWM dimming up to 3840Hz, and the width of the “black bar” is about 1/6 of the previous generation.
Regarding the screen, OnePlus China head Louis Jie said:
Last year, the “Oriental Screen” we developed together with BOE marked that the Chinese had climbed the Mount Everest of screens. To this day, this domestically produced 2K screen is still a benchmark in the industry.
OnePlus 13’s “Second Generation Oriental Screen” will soon be available to everyone. We hope that this screen will allow Chinese people to stand on the world screen stage and compete with global high-end display players, allowing Chinese screens to stand at the top of the world’s screen display field.
