Android 15 stable update finally arrives for Pixel phones

After rolling out Android 15 to AOSP last month, Google has finally started rolling out Android 15 stable update to Pixel smartphones today, as expected.

Android 15 brings Private space that allows users to create a separate space on their device where they can keep sensitive apps away from prying eyes, under an additional layer of authentication.

It also brings app archiving that is now integrated into the OS. Users can manage archiving and restoring directly from the Settings app, simplifying the process. There is also support for sharing or recording specific app windows for improved user consent and privacy.

In tablet and foldable screens, users can choose to “save app pairings”. Similar to regular pinned apps, you can create a split screen, then tap the new button in the Home menu to add it to your home screen.

Other features include predictive back animations, Taskbar pinning, default edge-to-edge mode, Home Controls screensaver, volume panel redesign, richer widget previews and more.

How to get it?

Android 15 is now available for

  • Pixel 6 Series: Pixel 6, 6 Pro, and 6a
  • Pixel 7 Series: Pixel 7, 7 Pro, and 7a
  • Pixel 8 Series: Pixel 8 and 8 Pro
  • Pixel Fold
  • Pixel Tablet

through OTA update. You can get it from Android developer website here manually. If you are already on beta, you would have received the beta of the next Android 15 quarterly platform release (QPR1) which has all the features.

Android 15 is coming to more devices

Google already confirmed that the Android 15 update will also be available to iQOO, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, SHARP, OPPO, realme, TECNO, vivo, Xiaomi and HONOR soon. These devices will get the stable update later this year.
