Xiaomi showcased the Redmi A4 5G at the Indian Mobile Congress (2024) in partnership with Qualcomm as the India’s first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Mobile Platform, as it had promised.
This is set to redefine the entry-level smartphone experience in India by delivering enhanced 5G connectivity to millions, said the company.
The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip uses the same 4nm processing node as the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, offers support for up to 90fps FHD+ displays compared, has dual 12-bit ISP camera support, packs a powerful modem for Gigabit 5G connectivity, and supports Dual-frequency GNSS (L1 + L5), including NAVIC.
The company did not reveal any specifications, but showcased the phone in two colours, a 50MP rear camera along with a secondary camera and a 3.5mm audio jack on the top.
“The Redmi A4 5G exemplifies Xiaomi’s ongoing mission to bring innovative technology to everyone. Designed with the Indian market in mind, the device accelerates India’s transition to 5G technology, ensuring optimized power efficiency, faster connectivity, and an enhanced user experience,” said the company.
With the Redmi A4 5G, Xiaomi and Qualcomm Technologies said that they are making gigabit-fast connectivity a reality for millions of Indians. The device’s affordability and powerful performance are poised to redefine the smartphone experience in this segment and drive the adoption of 5G technology in the country, the companies added.
Pricing
The Redmi A4 5G will launch in India soon, priced under Rs. 10,000, said the company.
