Samsung has introduced Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, a new foldable smartphone for the Korean market, as the thinnest and lightest smartphone in the Galaxy Z Fold series.
At 10.6mm thick and 236g in weight, it is 1.5mm thinner and 3g lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. When open, it is just 4.9mm, compared to 5.6mm in the Z Fold 6.
The main reason for this is the larger display, since this packs an 8-inch QXGA+ 20:18 aspect ratio, making it wider, and the outer display is also bigger at 6.5-inch with a wider 21:9 aspect ratio.
The camera has also seen an upgrade since this features a 200MP main camera compare to 50MP in the Z Fold6, while retaining the 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP 3x telephoto rear cameras. It still has a 4MP under screen front camera for the inner screen and a 10MP camera for the outer screen.
It retains Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy SoC, but has 16GB of RAM, and still has IP48 ratings for dust and water resistance, enhanced Armor Aluminum and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and a 4400mAh battery

Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition comes in Black Shadow colour and is priced at 2,789,600 won (USD 2025 / Rs. 1,70,295 approx.) for the single 16GB + 512GB model. It will be available in Korea starting from Korea starting from October 25th.
Customers who purchase and activate products by December 31st will be provided with discount coupons for the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra products, said the company.
