Google Pixel 9a surfaced in CAD-based renders earlier this month. Now the camera specifications of the phone has been revealed. According to Androidheadlines, the Pixel 9a will get a 48MP sensor, replacing the 64MP sensor in the Pixel 8a.
This is said to be the same 48MP 1/2″ Sony IMX787 sensor used in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. We can expect OIS. Even though the main camera is expected to get an upgrade, the Pixel 9a is said to retain the same 13MP ultra-wide camera, which should use a Sony IMX712 sensor, and a 13MP front camera with the same sensor.
The Pixel 9a is also expected to get the new ‘Add Me’ feature, which was introduced with the Pixel 9 series. This ensures everyone is included in group photos by letting you take a photo of a group, then trade places with someone and take a second photo with you in it.
Recently, @OnLeaks said that the dimensions of the Pixel 9a will be 154.7 x 73.2 x 8.9mm (9.4mm including rear camera ring), making it slightly taller and wider the Pixel 8a which measures 152.1x 72.7×8.9mm.
The Pixel 9a should use the Tensor G4 SoC, but use an Exynos Modem 5300 from the Pixel 8 series instead of Exynos Modem 5400 in the Pixel 9 series that has support for 5G 3GPP Rel. 17, and has improved efficiency.
We should know more details in the coming months, since the phone is expected only in 2025.
