OnePlus 13: Triple 50MP rear cameras including new periscope telephoto camera confirmed

After revealing the design and the launch date, OnePlus has confirmed the camera specifications of the OnePlus 13, the company’s next flagship smartphone.

The OnePlus 13 will retain the Hasselblad Triple rear camera setup. No matter which lens or focal length is used, the unique Hasselblad color texture can be captured, said the company.

On top of that, this uses the same algorithm as the OPPO Find X8 series, which is also OPPO’s strongest imaging algorithm at present, taking the snapshot experience a step further, combining light and shadow performance with detail capture.

The OnePlus 13 will retain the 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor for the main camera with OIS from the OnePlus 12. However, this replaces the 64MP OV64B 3X periscope telephoto lens with a 50MP 1/1.95″ LYT600 3X periscope telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture and OIS. There is also a 50MP 120° ultra-wide camera, which is said to use Samsung JN5 sensor.

The newly upgraded “multi-prism reflection structure” periscope offers a more advanced and scientific optical path design that not only makes the periscope module size significantly lighter and thinner, but also achieves faster focusing and clearer capture. The OnePlus 13 uses the same periscope structure design as the iPhone Pro series, and the experience is good, it added.

“A thinner and lighter periscope telephoto, a more user-friendly periscope telephoto, and a unique Hasselblad periscope telephoto, OnePlus 13 satisfies your needs,” said OnePlus China head Louis Jie.

The company has also shared a couple of images from the telephoto camera. In Master Mode, the character’s skin, expression, and background are more textured, and it retains the most natural light and shadow texture, and every shot will have the Hasselblad feel, said the company.
