Pixel Watch 5 with Google Tensor chip expected in 2026

Google used Exynos chip in the first Pixel watch, and it has been using Qualcomm chips in the Pixel Watch 2 and the latest Watch 3. It might continue this for the Pixel Watch 4. However, the Pixel Watch 5 releasing in 2026 could use the first wearable Tensor chip, according to Android Authority.

The codename is “NPT,” which we could mean “Newport Beach,” and it is said to use 1x Arm Cortex-A78 + 2x Arm Cortex-A55 for the best efficiency over cutting-edge performance, similar architecture as the Exynos W1000 3nm SoC which is used in the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Watch Ultra.

There is also RISC-V as a potential alternative, but with the recent removal of support from the Android kernel, this is less likely. The process node and modem details are still not available.

Since the Pixel 10’s Tensor G5 chip is expected to be made by TSMC, marking Google’s first chip made without Samsung, there are chances for the wearable Google Tensor chip to use the 3nm TSMC process node. The smartwatch is expected to enhance smart features.

We should know more details about the Pixel Watch 5 and the wearable Tensor chip in the coming months.
