The A16 5G has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate.  The screen is bright even in outdoors. The phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC compared to Exynos 1330 SoC in Europe.

The phone runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1 on top. Samsung has promised 6 OS updates and 6 years of security updates for the phones, till October 31, 2030. It also has NFC and Knox security.

Inside the notch here is a 13-megapixel camera. The earpiece grill is on the top edge, but it doesn’t double up as a secondary speaker. There is a chin below the display.

Coming to the button placements, the power button that integrates the fingerprint scanner and the volume rockers are present on the right side. The hybrid SIM slot is present on the left. The primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are on the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top. The phone has a plastic frame with a matte finish.

The A16 has triple rear cameras without the camera bar that matches other Samsung phones. It has a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. Both the front and rear cameras support up to 1080p 30 fps recording. Check out some camera samples below.

Compared to the glass back in the top-end A series phones, this still has a glasstic back with a glossy finish. Since it has a large, 5000mAh battery, the phone weighs 192 grams. It has support for 25W fast charging, but doesn’t come with a charger in the box.

The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G starts at Rs. 18,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model and is available from Samsung.com and other online retailers such as Amazon.in, and at select retail stores.
