Redmi K80 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite teased, price hinted

Redmi Brand’s General Manager Wang Teng Thomas in an official live broadcast event hinted at the configuration and price information of the Redmi K80 Pro phone.

He said that the Redmi K80 Pro will have a greater configuration than the “yellow” friendly competitor’s 13 model, which should be iQOO 13 and a lower price than the “red” friendly competitor’s 13 model, which should be OnePlus 13.

Redmi K80 Pro price?

To remind you, the iQOO 13 12GB + 256GB costs 3999 yuan (USD 559 / Rs. 47,160 approx.) and the OnePlus 13 is more costly compared to it, so the phone should be cheaper than 4,000 yuan.

To remind you, the Redmi K70 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was introduced starting at 3299 yuan, but it is not clear if we will get a pricing closer to it this year. Currently, the realme GT 7 Pro is the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered phone at just 3699 yuan, and with launch offers, it is 3599 yuan.

There is no Redmi K80E

During the stream, he also confirmed that the company is going back to dual flagship strategy for the Redmi K series, so there will only be Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro, and there will be no successor to Redmi K70E.

Redmi GM showed off the Redmi K80 Pro scoring over 3 million points on AnTuTu 10 in room temperature with maxium temperature of 49° C, and the image also hints at a metal frame. There are other phones next to it showing 2.73 million points and 2.83 million points.

Wang Teng Thomas said that the HyperOS 2 system will be customized for the K80 series with optimizations for the gaming performance, touch enhancements and more, and it is also expected to bring new system animations.

Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro specs?

Based on earlier rumours, the Redmi K80 should be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen SoC and get 90W wired and 30W wireless charging, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Redmi K80 Pro is said to get 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, pack a Light Fusion 800 sensor, 50MP 3x telephoto camera and a 32MP front camera.

The phones are said to pack a 6.67-inch 2K 120Hz flat screen from TCL C9, glass back and come with IP68 dust and water resistance ratings. The Redmi K80 series will be introduced later this November, and we should know the exact launch date in the coming weeks.
