Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera specs surface ahead of January launch

Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro smartphones in China last month, and is gearing up for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the top-end model in the series. Now the camera specifications of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has surfaced, thanks to leaker Digital Chat Station.

Camera upgrades

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is said to use a 50MP 1/2.51″ Sony IMX858, 70mm 3X telephoto camera and doesn’t crop the images. In addition, the dual telephoto lenses of Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to support telephoto macro function, and there is also a new photography handle kit.

Earlier rumours also revealed a 50MP 23mm f/1.6x main camera, with a physical focal length greater, and a new customized hardware module anda physical focal length greater than the previous generation’s 8.7xmm.

In addition, the phone is said to get a new 200MP 4.3X periscope telephoto camera with f/2.6 aperture, a 1/1.4″ Samsung HP9 sensor that we had seen in vivo X200 Pro. It should retain a 50MP ultra-wide camera and use Leica Summilux lens.

Battery and screen

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra should be powered be Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, get an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and is said to pack a huge 6000mAh battery, compared to 5300mAh battery in the predecessor, but slightly smaller than the 6100mAh battery in the Xiaomi 15 Pro. It is expected to retain the 2K quad-curved screen from the Xiaomi 15 Pro.

Launch date?

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to be introduced in January 2025 in China launch first with global launch expected at the MWC in March 2025.
