Redmi K80 series: 2K screen, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner

Redmi Brand’s General Manager Wang Teng Thomas teased Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Redmi K80 Pro’s performance earlier this month. Now the company has confirmed the display details of the K80 series developed by Sun Yat-sen University Zhongshan Eye Center and TCL. It has also confirmed ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for the phones.

It will come with hardware eye protection, hardware-level full brightness DC dimming, and it has passed the TÜV Rheinland flicker-free eye protection certification. The screen uses ADV-MEMC image quality eye protection and AON Smart Eye Care, offering real-time monitoring of visual health.

Based on earlier rumours, phones will pack a 6.67-inch (3200×1440) 2K 120Hz flat screen, glass back, peak brightness of up to 3200 nits, 99.5% DCI-P3 color gamut, ≥ 102% NTSC color gamut and come with IP68 dust and water resistance ratings. The phones will be introduced sometime next week.
