HUAWEI just introduced the Mate X6, the company’s latest foldable smartphone in China, as it had promised. The phone packs a 7.93-inch foldable screen with a peak brightness of 1800nit, and the outer 6.45-inch has a peak brightness of 2500 nits, both with 1-120Hz LTPO OLD panel with 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
The phone uses distributed basalt architecture, which brings stronger signals, more reliability, and stronger heat dissipation. It is the first to launch Star Flash shutdown with precise positioning. It is equipped with the second-generation basalt tempered Kunlun glass, carbon fiber inner screen support layer, super-strong wing aluminum body frame, new basalt water drop hinge, and ultra-high thermal conductivity graphene material.
The phone also has a triple-network satellite in the collector’s edition, which is the world’s first mass-market smartphone that supports triple-network satellite communications, and it is expected to be publicly tested in the second half of 2025.
The phone has a 50MP f/1.4-f/4.0 variable aperture main camera with OIS, RYYB, 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 48MP 4x periscope telephoto camera with OIS. There is a 1.5MP red maple primary color camera that supports 5cm telephoto macro. Both the inner and outer screens features a 8MP camera.
It has IPX8 ratings for water resistance and packs a 5110mAh / 5200mAh battery, respectively for the standard and the collector’s edition, both with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
