OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 8 Elite confirmed for December

After several rumours, OnePlus has confirmed that it will introduce Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro, two new Ace series smartphones, in China in December. The teaser confirms dual Snapdragon SoCs, with the Pro model packing the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, and the standard model should be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Regarding the upcoming Ace 5 series, OnePlus Chine head Louis Jie said,

In the past, we used the standard version to “fight two with one”, and we were still able to do it with ease; now, we have officially upgraded the Pro version, with the strongest attitude, and it will only be more powerful. Since we have come to this battlefield, we also have to say something fierce: I come, I see, I conquer.

He posted gaming data of Ace 5 with competing model with Snapdragon 8 Elite with same 120 frames + extreme image quality for one hour, the same testing method and environment.

The competitor’s 8 Elite model has average frame rate 120.2, power consumption 3.27W, maximum temperature 40 degrees. The OnePlus Ace 5 has average frame rate 120.4, power consumption 3.57W, maximum temperature 40.3 degrees. The competitor’s 8 Gen 3 model has average frame rate 119.8, power consumption 4.56W, and maximum temperature 42.1 degrees.

OnePlus Ace 5

The Ace 5 is said to pack a 6.78″ 1.5K BOE X2 8T LTPO flat screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, 50MP main camera, alert slider and a huge 6500mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.

Unlike the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner in the OnePlus 13, this is said to stick to an optical fingerprint scanner, and retain the 50MP main + 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera, same as the older standard Ace series phones.

OnePlus Ace 5 Pro

The OnePlus Ace 5 Pro should finally get a telephoto camera, and use Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, a 6200mAh / 6300mAh battery capacity.

The OnePlus Ace 5 should arrive in global markets including India as OnePlus 13R, and could be introduced alongside the OnePlus 13 sometime in January, same as the OnePlus 12. However, the Ace 5 Pro should still be exclusive to the Chinese market.

Update: We now have the render of the Ace 5 that shows a flat screen with crystal shield glass metal middle frame, and it is said to use a ceramic body.
