DJI Mic Mini wireless microphone with dual-channel recording, up to 48h battery life announced

DJI has expanded its OsmoAudio lineup with the launch of the DJI Mic Mini, a compact, lightweight, and budget-friendly wireless microphone designed for content creators.

DJI Mic Mini: Key Features

Weighing only 10g, the DJI Mic Mini is significantly lighter than the DJI Mic 2, offering comfort and discretion. Users can clip it onto clothing, attach it with magnets, or wear it on a lanyard, ensuring a clean, professional appearance on camera.

The microphone offers two noise cancellation levels:

  • Basic Noise Reduction: Ideal for quiet indoor settings, reducing background noises like fans and air conditioners.
  • Strong Noise Cancellation: Optimized for noisy environments such as crowded venues and outdoor spaces, focusing on clear vocal capture.

A windscreen is included to minimize wind interference during outdoor recordings. The automatic limiting feature adjusts audio levels to prevent distortion when input volumes spike.

Dual-Channel Recording and Portability

The DJI Mic Mini supports dual-channel recording, allowing users to capture audio from two transmitters simultaneously. Creators can choose between Mono and Stereo modes, offering flexibility for post-production. The microphone also includes a charging case that holds two transmitters, a receiver, mobile adapters, and windscreens, enhancing portability.

Battery and Power Management

The device provides 48 hours of use on a fully charged case, with a quick five-minute charge offering up to one hour of recording. Power-saving features include a sleep mode and automatic power-off settings, which can be customized via the DJI Mimo app.

Device Compatibility

The DJI Mic Mini integrates seamlessly with DJI products like the Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Action 4, and Osmo Pocket 3 without needing a receiver. It also connects directly to smartphones via Bluetooth, enabling audio capture with third-party apps. When paired with the DJI Fly app, users can overlay high-quality audio onto aerial footage and minimize propeller noise.

It is compatible with cameras, smartphones, tablets, and computers. When connected to a camera via a 3.5mm TRS cable, it supports synchronized power on/off. It also allows external playback and simultaneous charging when used with smartphones.
