Along with the REDMI K80 series, Xiaomi also introduced the REDMI Buds 6 Pro, the company’s latest TWS earbuds at its event, as it had promised. For the first time, Xiaomi has used triple drivers in its earphones that include a 6.7 mm piezoelectric ceramic dual driver and an 11 mm titanium-coated dynamic driver.
There is spatial audio, MIHC, LDHC 5.0 and LC3 audio codecs. It supports Deep Space Noise Reduction 2.0 offering 55dB noise reduction depth, flagship-level self-developed noise reduction algorithm, and also supports sliding adjustment function. It has 3-mic AI ENC that can block wind noise up to 12m/s during calls, says the company.
It promises up to 36 hours of total battery life and comes with fast charging that promises up to 2 hours of playback with 5 minute of charge.
REDMI also launched a REDMI Buds 6 Pro gaming edition specially customized for gamers. It has a low-latency flash connector 2.0, uses an integrated storage, and supports a variety of quick operations. It has an ultra-low latency of 20ms and upgraded 67W fast charging, supports high-fidelity LHDC Lossless audio codec.
This also includes Xiaomi’s first wireless microphone function, with a maximum transmission distance of 130m while retaining the same audio tech from the standard version.
Pricing and availability
The REDMI Buds 6 Pro comes in Jade Green, White and Black colours, is priced at 399 yuan (USD 55 / Rs. 4,660 approx.) and is already on sale in China. The REDMI Buds 6 Pro gaming edition costs 499 yuan (USD 69 / Rs. 5,830 approx.) and will be available in China from December 3rd.
