Samsung One UI 7 features surface ahead of official rollout

Samsung’s Spanish website has unexpectedly shared information about One UI 7 before its official rollout. Leaker Chunvn8888 posted on X (formerly Twitter), revealing the site’s highlights, which focus heavily on AI integration. According to Android Authority, the website emphasizes that “AI powers every step” in One UI 7, giving it a “sophisticated new look.”

Key Features in One UI 7

Samsung introduces updated icons, a revamped notification center, and a new lock screen that offers a quick view of ongoing activities.

Sketch to Image

A standout feature is the AI-powered Sketch to Image tool, which allows users to turn sketches into images. One UI 7 will expand this feature with options like 3D Cartoon, Sketch, and Watercolor.

  • Requirements: Sketch to Image requires an internet connection and a Samsung account.
  • Limitations: Edited images will be resized to 12MP, with a watermark indicating AI generation.
Portrait Studio

The new Portrait Studio feature allows users to transform regular portraits into artistic profile pictures with themes such as Comic, 3D Cartoon, and Sketch.

  • Image Specs: Portraits will be saved as 9MP images with a watermark.
  • Requirements: Like Sketch to Image, a network connection and Samsung account login are required.
Live Effects

The Live Effects feature lets users add depth and perspective to their photos, enhancing their visual appeal.

Child Safety

Samsung is introducing child safety controls, possibly within the Galaxy Store. Children’s accounts will now require guardian approval to purchase apps.

Additional Features

The website also highlights features such as Circle to Search, Live Translate, and AI Zoom, which are already part of One UI 6.1.1. Additionally, the site highlights the Energy Score feature, which was previously introduced with One UI 6 Watch on Wear OS 5 for Galaxy smartwatches.

Compatibility and Availability

According to the fine print, Galaxy AI features will be available for free on compatible devices until the end of 2025. These features are expected to roll out in Q4 2024 for select models, including:
