Apple today unveiled the Apple Music Replay 2024 experience, offering new insights and features for both music listeners and artists. Available within the Apple Music app, this feature allows artists to share their year-end insights through Apple Music for Artists.
Personalized Replay 2024 Experience
Apple Music subscribers worldwide can now access a detailed review of their 2024 listening habits. This includes their most-played songs, artists, and albums, along with motion videos that users can share. New features include:
- Top Listener Insights: Find out if you’ve made it into the Top 500 or 1000 listeners of your favorite artists.
- Listening Streaks: Track the longest consecutive days you’ve listened to music on Apple Music.
- Replay by Month: See your top songs, artists, and albums by month.
- Top Artist Streak: Discover if you’ve been loyal to the same artist for multiple months.
- Date of First Play: See when you first played your most-listened-to song, artist, or album of the year.
Replay Mix and Archive
Subscribers can listen to their most-played songs from 2024 in the Replay Mix and revisit past years’ top songs through the Replay Mix series. The Replay insights archive lets users dive back into their favorite songs from previous months and years. The experience updates throughout the year, allowing listeners to share insights and discover new music.
New Features for Artists in Apple Music for Artists
This year, artists can celebrate their 2024 achievements with new Replay insights on their Apple Music for Artists dashboard. Insights include:
- Total Minutes: The total number of minutes Apple Music subscribers listened to their music in 2024.
- Total Listeners: The total number of listeners who streamed their music.
- Top Cities: The cities where their music was most popular.
- Top Shazam: The song most discovered via Shazam this year.
Artists can access, download, and share these insights via video and stills from the Apple Music for Artists app.
Apple Music’s New Features
Apple Music 2024 also introduces several exciting new features:
- Collaborative Playlists: Users can create playlists with friends and react to songs with emojis.
- Discovery Station: A personalized radio station that evolves with the listener’s changing tastes, featuring new music without repeating songs.
- Heavy Rotation Mix: A daily-updated mix of the listener’s favorite recent songs.
- Apple Music Sing: Allows users to sing along to songs with real-time lyrics and adjustable vocals.
2024 Year-End Charts
Apple Music also revealed its 2024 Year-End Charts, which highlight the top songs globally based on streams, Shazam tags, radio spins, and more. The top song of 2024 is Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” followed by Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” and Dua Lipa’s “Houdini.” Other highlights include:
- Top Songs of 2024: More women artists than ever before made it onto the global year-end charts, with Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” as the highest-ranked song by a female artist.
- Shazam Global Chart: Newcomers dominated, with Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” taking the top spot.
- Most-Read Lyrics and Top Sing Charts: Japanese hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts topped both the Lyrics and Sing charts.
- Global Radio Spins: Dua Lipa’s “Houdini” topped the inaugural Shazam Global Radio Spins chart.
