POCO today launched the M7 Pro 5G, the company’s latest smartphone in the M7 series, in India. This is the successor to last year’s M6 Pro smartphone. Here we have the first impressions of the phone.

The phone has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ 120Hz variable refresh rate AMOLED screen with up to 2100 nits peak brightness, so the sunlight legibility is decent even in bright outdoors. The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The tiny punch-hole houses a 20MP camera. On the top edge, there is an earpiece grill, which doubles up as a secondary speaker. The bezel size has reduced a lot compared to the predecessor, and this also gets an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra 6nm processor. We have the 6GB RAM version, but the phone also comes in 8GB RAM version with up to 8GB of virtual RAM. The phone runs Android 14 with Hyper OS out of the box, and the company promised 2 years of Android OS updates and 4 years of security updates.
Coming to the button placements, the volume rockers and the power button are present on the right side of the phone. The dual SIM slot is present on the bottom along with the USB Type-C port, microphone and the loudspeaker grill. The secondary microphone and the IR blaster are at the top, along with the 3.5mm audio jack. Since the phone has a plastic frame, you don’t see any antenna cutouts.
The POCO M7 Pro 5G features the 50MP rear camera with Sony LYT-600 1/1.95″ sensor with f/1.5 aperture. There is a secondary 2MP depth sensor. Both the front and rear cameras support 1080p 30 fps video recording.
The flat frame offers a good grip to hold and doesn’t attract fingerprints. The back has a dual-tone finish that looks attractive, and it offers a matte finish. The phone also has IP64 ratings for dust and splash resistance. It packs a 5110mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
The POCO M6 Plus 5G starts at Rs. 14,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model. With the bank offer, the phone will be available starting at Rs. 13,999. It will be available from Flipkart starting from December 20th.
