LG unveiled the SIGNATURE OLED T as the world’s first 77-inch transparent and true wireless 4K OLED TV at the CES 2024 earlier this year. Today, the company has announced that the global roll-out of the TV will finally begin this month, starting from the U.S.
The LG SIGNATURE OLED T marks a significant advancement in both technology and design. Its unique self-lit screen can seamlessly transition from transparent to opaque, offering both a premium OLED viewing experience and enhanced flexibility in interior design.
A simple button press allows users to switch between transparent and opaque modes, opening up new possibilities for entertainment and interior aesthetics. In transparent mode, the OLED T delivers a futuristic viewing experience, creating the illusion of content floating in mid-air and blending on-screen visuals with the surrounding environment.
The LG OLED T also boasts several features that maximize the benefits of its transparent screen:
- T-Objet: An Always-On-Display (AOD) mode transforms the screen into a transparent digital canvas, perfect for showcasing artwork, videos, or photos with exceptional color and clarity.
- T-Bar: A sleek information ticker at the bottom of the screen displays sports scores, IoT device statuses, weather forecasts, or song titles, while the rest of the screen remains transparent, maintaining a clear view of the space behind the display.
- T-Home: A user-friendly interface provides easy access to services, apps, settings, and other features.
Despite its large 77-inch display, the LG OLED T enhances the feeling of spaciousness in a room. Its transparency allows it to be positioned centrally without being intrusive, or placed in front of windows without obstructing natural light or outdoor views.
Combining a transparent 4K OLED screen with LG’s true wireless video and audio transmission technology, the OLED T promises both aesthetic appeal and an enhanced home entertainment experience. The absence of tangled cables creates a clean and immersive viewing environment.
At the heart of this innovation is LG’s proprietary Zero Connect Box, a visually lossless wireless video and audio transmission solution that eliminates latency for a seamless viewing experience. Supporting 4K at a 120Hz variable refresh rate, the OLED T is NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified, ensuring smooth, tear-free gameplay for a dynamic and realistic gaming experience.
Leveraging over a decade of OLED innovation, this unique TV brings images to life with vibrant colors and incredible contrast. Powered by LG’s advanced α (Alpha) 11 AI processor, the OLED T intelligently optimizes both picture and sound quality, delivering an unparalleled audiovisual experience.
