LG Electronics (LG) is preparing to launch its latest UltraGear GX9 series of premium OLED gaming monitors at CES 2025 in January.
The lineup includes the 45GX990A, a 45-inch OLED gaming monitor that has already secured three CES 2025 Innovation Awards, including the prestigious “Best of Innovation.” The series also introduces a smart gaming monitor powered by LG’s webOS platform, designed for seamless entertainment and gaming.
Gaming Experience Enhanced with WOLED Technology
The UltraGear GX9 series utilizes LG’s advanced WOLED technology, featuring curved display panels for an immersive gaming experience. These monitors deliver high brightness, true blacks, vibrant colors, and optimized curvature to bring games to life.
Additionally, the displays are certified for low blue light emissions to reduce eye strain during extended sessions. LG’s Anti-Glare & Low Reflection (AGLR) coating further minimizes screen glare, ensuring clear visibility even in bright environments.
45-Inch 5K2K OLED Gaming Monitors
The 45GX990A and 45GX950A are standout models, both featuring 45-inch, 21:9 OLED displays with an impressive 5K2K resolution (5,120 x 2,160)—a first for OLED monitors. The 21:9 aspect ratio offers an immersive viewing experience, surpassing the standard 16:9 format while maintaining better content compatibility than 32:9 displays.
These monitors include LG’s second-generation Dual-Mode functionality, allowing users to switch between aspect ratios (21:9 or 16:9) and screen sizes (39-, 34-, or 27-inches) to suit different game genres, such as FPS, RPG, MOBA, and racing simulators.
Advanced Features for Performance and Compatibility
The 45GX950A model, with its 800R curvature, is the world’s first bendable 45-inch 5K2K OLED gaming monitor equipped with DisplayPort 2.1. Its self-lit OLED panel delivers deep contrast, vibrant colors, and stunning image quality. The monitor’s 4-side Virtually Borderless design and slim bezels enhance the sense of immersion, while a 125 PPI resolution ensures sharpness and text readability, making it ideal for productivity tasks alongside gaming.
Both the 45GX990A and 45GX950A models support DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery, ensuring compatibility with the latest graphics cards. These monitors also feature variable refresh rate (VRR) support and certifications from NVIDIA G-SYNC® and AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro, reducing screen tearing for a smoother gaming experience.
LG UltraGear 39GX90SA: A Smart Gaming Monitor
The LG UltraGear 39GX90SA is designed for gaming and content streaming. Powered by LG’s webOS platform, this 39-inch monitor functions as an all-in-one entertainment hub, allowing users to access streaming services without a PC or set-top box. Its 21:9 curved OLED display offers vivid colors and deep blacks, making it perfect for AAA games, HDR movies, and TV series.
With USB Type-C ports for easy connectivity and an ergonomic, space-saving L-shaped stand, this monitor ensures a clutter-free and convenient desk setup.

The UltraGear GX9 series, including the 45GX990A and 39GX90SA, is set to launch in Q1 2025. Pricing details will be announced at CES 2025 or during the global rollout.
