Ather Energy has announced its updated 450 Series lineup for 2025, introducing several changes and new features across its range of electric scooters. This article provides an overview of the key updates.
1. Multimode Traction Control:
The 2025 450 Series now incorporates a multimode traction control system. This feature is designed to manage rear wheel slippage during rapid acceleration, particularly on surfaces with reduced friction. The system offers three distinct modes:
- Rain Mode: This mode prioritizes control in wet conditions by providing the most aggressive torque intervention and limiting acceleration.
- Rally Mode: Offering the least intrusive torque intervention and the fastest ramp backup, this mode is intended for use on uneven or challenging terrain.
- Road Mode: As the default setting, Road mode aims to balance safety and performance for everyday riding scenarios.
2. Magic Twist Regenerative Braking:
The “Magic Twist” feature, previously seen on other Ather models, is now standard across the 2025 450 Series. This system allows riders to decelerate by twisting the throttle backward, engaging regenerative braking to help recharge the battery.
3. Range Updates:
The 2025 450 Series sees changes to the stated IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range for each model. The updated figures are as follows:

- WhatsApp on Dash: Get previews for WhatsApp messages on the scooter’s dashboard when at a halt. This is not available on the 450S.
- Alexa Integration: Allows users to interact with their scooter through Alexa devices, checking on scooter status and other information using over 40 prompts.
- Ping My Scooter: Helps locate the scooter in a parking lot by flashing its lights when triggered from the Ather App.
- Ather App Updates: The Ather App now offers ride statistics (renamed Ride Stories) and live notifications on the phone’s lock screen for updates on the scooter’s charging status.
