ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the launch of its 2025 ROG Strix line-up, showcasing the latest high-performance hardware from NVIDIA, Intel, and AMD, alongside the 2025 ROG Flow Z13, a 2-in-1 gaming laptop, at CES 2025.
ROG Strix 2025 Models
The 2025 ROG Strix lineup is powered by the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series Laptop GPUs. Gamers can benefit from advanced features like DLSS 3, Frame Generation, and ray tracing, providing high-end graphics performance without compromising on gameplay speed.
The new Strix series also includes processors from Intel and AMD. The Intel-powered models, such as the Strix SCAR 16 (G635), SCAR 18 (G835), Strix G16 (G615), and Strix G18 (G815), are equipped with Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processors.
Meanwhile, the AMD-based Strix G16 (G614) and Strix G18 (G814) feature the latest AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D and Ryzen 9 9955HX processors. These models support up to 64GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM and up to 4TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage in the Strix SCAR 16 and 18.
Enhanced Cooling System
The 2025 ROG Strix models incorporate an advanced cooling system for optimal thermal management. Intel-based laptops feature a sandwiched heatsink design with top and bottom fins, complemented by an end-to-end vapor chamber.
This setup, combined with liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU, ensures improved cooling efficiency while reducing noise. AMD-based models utilize a seven-heat-pipe system, full-surround vents, and a full-width heatsink for superior heat dissipation.
ROG Nebula Display with ACR Technology
The Strix SCAR 16 and SCAR 18 come with the ROG Nebula HDR Display with Mini LED technology, offering a peak brightness of 1200 nits for exceptional clarity.
- The Strix G16 and G18 feature ROG Nebula Displays with a 2.5K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, offering 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage.
- Additionally, all models include dual-layer ACR (Ambient Contrast Ratio) film, enhancing contrast and reducing reflections by 55% for better visibility during gaming.
Upgradable Design and RGB Features
The 2025 Intel-based Strix laptops are designed with a sleeker chassis that features fewer seams, offering a more refined look. These models also introduce the world’s first full-surround RGB lightbar, which gives the laptops a glowing, futuristic appearance.
The Strix SCAR 16 and 18 also showcase the AniMe Vision lighting array with 810 LEDs, offering customizable lighting effects, and providing a premium look when the RGB is turned off.
For added convenience, Intel-based models include tool-less upgrades, allowing users to easily access SSD and RAM slots by sliding the bottom panel. This design simplifies the hardware upgrade process for gamers.
