Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the company’s latest flagship SoC back in October last year, now the specifications of the Snapdragon 8s Elite with the model number SM8735 has surfaced.
The early frequency of the chip is 1 x3.21GHz + 3 x 3.01GHz + 2 x 2.80GHz + 2 x 2.02GHz, and the phone is said use 1+3+2+2 architecture with Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 cores, similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 instead of custom Oryon Cores in the flagship. The SoC is said to use Adreno 825 GPU, compared to Adreno 830 GPU in the 8 Elite.
The Geekbech 6 scores of 1967 for single-core and 5827 for multi-core for the upcoming iQOO phone revealed in the benchmark leak is not a huge change compared to 8s Gen 3. According to leaker Digital Chat Station, these are preliminary results from prototype units, so the final retail version should offer better scores.
iQOO and Redmi should be the first to use the chip when it is released sometime around April 2025. Based on rumours, the Redmi phone will pack a 1.5K OLED screen, 7000mAh battery, and 90W charging. This could launch globally as POCO F7.
