Xiaomi has announced in China that it has started recruiting Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 users internally from the Xiaomi Community to test a new WinPlay engine in HyperOS that will let you play Windows games on the tablet without internet connection.
WinPlay engine is not a “cloud gaming” streaming tool, but can run Windows software directly locally without a network through virtualization translation. Xiaomi said that WinPlay’s GPU performance loss is only 2.9%.
The official poster reveals that WinPlay also supports the installation of Steam. However, supporting the installation of Steam does not mean that all games on the Steam platform can be run – even Steam’s own SteamOS has issues when running some games.
Leaker Digital Chat Station has posted an image of the Xiaomi Tablet 6S Pro running Windows games locally based on the WinPlay engine and support for Xbox controller. The engine is now able to run games such as “Tomb Raider” relatively smoothly.
Xiaomi WinPlay has now started recruiting internal testers for Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro users. Users who meet the requirements can apply in the Xiaomi Community.
