Last year, Nothing CEO Carl Pei said that the flagship Nothing Phone (3) will launch in 2025 with AI features. However, we only got details about the Nothing Phone (3a), Phone (3a) Plus, and CMF Phone (2).
Now Nothing has officially started teasing the phone with the Pokémon codename Arcanine, which is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I.
This coincides with earlier rumours which also revealed the model number as A059 along with the same codename. There are also rumours of Nothing Phone (3) Pro or Plus model with Pokémon codename Hisuian Arcanine.
However, the Nothing Phone A059 surfaced in benchmark last year with Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, which is said to be used in the Nothing Phone (3a) series.

An alleged mail from Carl Pei posted by @evleaks which was later removed revealed that the Nothing Phone (3) will introduce breakthrough innovations in user interface, marking the first step toward the company’s Al- powered platform.
The internal memo also mentions that the company is planning to launch a “landmark” smartphone in Q1 2025, which could mean that we could get the Nothing Phone (3) as early as February or March 2025.
The Nothing Phone (2a) was launched in March 2024, so can we also expect the Phone (3a) and the (3a) Plus this March? Only time will tell.
