Apple is gearing up for the imminent release of the Powerbeats Pro 2, with leaks indicating that these fitness-focused earbuds could hit the market soon.
Before any official announcement from Apple, tipster @MysteryLupin and German site WinFuture shared images, specifications, and more details about the upcoming earbuds.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 will reportedly be the first Apple earbuds to feature a heart rate sensor, allowing users to track their heartbeats in real time during workouts. They are expected to support Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Dolby Atmos, and Qi wireless charging, with a battery life of up to 45 hours, including the charging case.
The earbuds will leverage the Apple H2 chip for features such as one-touch pairing, audio sharing, automatic device switching, Find My, and Siri compatibility. These capabilities will also extend to Android users via the Beats app, offering control customization, battery status checks, and location tracking.
The earbuds will be available in four colors: Jet Black, Quick Sand, Electric Orange, and Hyper Purple. According to WinFuture’s machine-translated marketing description from Apple, the Powerbeats Pro 2 will offer:
- An updated acoustic architecture and personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking for a deep, immersive sound experience.
- Advanced ANC and Transparency mode to manage external noise during workouts.
- Adaptive EQ, which adjusts sound based on the earbud seal, using internal microphones for real-time frequency adjustments.
- A redesigned ear hook, tested for over 1,500 hours with nearly 1,000 athletes, ensuring comfort and security for all ear types and activities. The nickel-titanium alloy construction enhances flexibility and grip, making the Powerbeats Pro 2 20% lighter than its predecessor.
- Heart rate monitoring with optical LED sensors that pulse over 100 times per second to measure blood flow.
- Five ear tip sizes (extra-small to extra-large) for a customized fit.
- Up to 10 hours of playback per earbud, with Fast Fuel providing 90 minutes of playback from a 5-minute charge.
- A charging case that is 33% smaller and now supports Qi wireless charging.
- Sweat and water resistance with an IPX4 rating.
- Three advanced microphones per earbud for superior voice clarity and noise cancellation, similar to the AirPods Pro 2.
- Enhanced connectivity with Class 1 Bluetooth, enabling high-quality calls, FaceTime with spatial audio, and Siri activation.
