iQOO launched the iQOO 12 smartphone in India back in December 2023 running Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14 on top. At that time, the company promised 3 years of Android OS updates and 4 years of security updates.
Today, the company announced extension of both Android and security updates by additional 1 year, so the phone will now get 4 generations of OS updates till 2027 and 5 years of security updates till 2028.
This matches the iQOO 13 which was launched a couple of months back. However, since the phone runs Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15 out of the box, it will get one additional year of Android and security updates compared to the iQOO 12.
