Nothing Phone (3a) series will be manufactured in India

London-based consumer technology brand Nothing has announced that their upcoming Nothing Phone (3a) series, will be manufactured in India, in an aim to harness India’s rich manufacturing ecosystem, investing in the local economy, and fostering technological innovation.

This follows the Phone (1), Phone (2) and the Phone (2) which were also made in India at a facility in Tamil Nadu. The Chennai factory, where the Phone (3a) Series is produced, employs over 500 people, with women comprising 95% of the workforce. This facility plays a key role in the production of the new phone series. The company’s workforce in India is growing.

Nothing recently announced that it experienced growth in the Indian smartphone market. According to Counterpoint Research, the company saw a 577% year-over-year growth in 2024, attributed to demand for the Phone (2a) Series and its sub-brand CMF by Nothing. The company also recently reported surpassing $1 billion in lifetime revenue since its launch in October 2020.

The company is expanding its after-sales support network in India, with five exclusive service centers and a wider network of partner service locations. Retail presence has also increased from 2,000 to 7,000 stores.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Series is designed in London and manufactured in India. The Nothing Phone (3a) will be introduced on March 4th. The company recently teased the transparent design of the phone.
