Samsung showcased the Galaxy S25 Edge at its Galaxy Unpacked event last month. Previously rumored as the “Slim,” this device is now officially named the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Design and Dimensions
Recent leaks from tipsters Steve H.McFly (@OnLeaks on X, formerly Twitter) and Ice Universe on Weibo reveal key details about the Galaxy S25 Edge.
The device measures 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84 mm, making it one of Samsung’s thinnest smartphones yet, significantly slimmer than the earlier rumored 6.4 mm thickness. This slim profile accommodates a 3,900mAh battery, which is smaller than some might expect.
Camera Details: No Telephoto Lens
Ice Universe has shared that the S25 Edge will feature a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor, the same as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It will also include a 12MP ultrawide sensor, likely identical to the one in the Galaxy S25 and S25+.
However, there will be no dedicated telephoto lens. Instead, the 200MP HP2 sensor is expected to handle zooming, as this design choice likely helps maintain the phone’s thin profile without a bulky camera bump.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, similar to other S25 models, with 12GB of RAM and a 25W charging speed, matching that of the base Galaxy S25.
Launch date?
Although full specs and an official launch date are still under wraps, the phone is expected to launch in May 2025, positioning it as a competitor to the rumored iPhone 17 Air.
More information might be shared at the Mobile World Congress in March 2025 in Barcelona.
