Apple has finally launched Apple TV app for Android smartphones, foldables and tablets. This lets you watch Apple Original series and films on Apple TV+, along with MLS Season Pass, the home of Major League Soccer.
Apple said that the Apple TV app for Android is built from the ground up, offering a familiar and intuitive interface. Android users can subscribe to Apple TV+ and MLS Season Pass using their Google Play account on Android mobile and Google TV devices. Apple TV+ also offers a seven-day free trial.
Since the initial launch of the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ subscription in 2019, Apple has gradually expanded platform support. Starting with iOS and Mac devices, select Smart TVs, and streaming devices, Apple later added Chromecast with Google TV, NVIDIA Shield, and other Android TV models in 2021. This latest move to include Android mobile devices is expected to significantly boost Apple’s services revenue.
The Apple TV app is available for download on the Google Play Store. Currently, the app holds a 1.9 rating, largely reflecting older reviews from users previously frustrated by the lack of mobile support. This recent launch should address those concerns and potentially improve the app’s rating over time.
